PowerPoint Project

I chose to upload my second to last image because I used my PowerPoint drawing skills to replicate a photograph and I like the way it came out.

Reflection:

I had fun with this project although it required a lot of hard work. I could see myself using PowerPoint for a variety of things in the classroom. PowerPoint can be used as a way to teach lessons or conduct interactive student study programs. PowerPoint may be very effective in grabbing students’ attention. This project meets NETS standard 1 because it allows teachers to use their subject knowledge to teach and let students learn interactively and innovatively, standard 2 because it allows teachers to design learning experiences using contemporary tools, standard 3 because it allows teachers to demonstrate their digital skills and knowledge, and standard 5 because teachers become role models for using digital tools effectively when using interactive PowerPoint lessons. I will be sure to use PowerPoint in my classroom.

Hypothesis
· I believe that despite the equal weight there will be a varying number of candies within each bag
· I also believe that there will be a different number of each color candy within each bag
· I believe that orange will be the most popular color
Findings
· Only one bag out of three had a different number of candies. The total number of cadies in each of the bags were very close
· There were different numbers of each color candy in all of the bags
· The color distribution of the candies was different in every bag
· Yellow was the most popular candy color in all of the bags
· Green was the least popular candy color in all of the bags
Reflection
This project was fun and delicious! It was, like the title, dandy! I practiced what I had learned in class about Excel. I practiced the newly learned formulas and how to plot a chart. I had to figure out how to convert the numbers with decimals into fractions, which was rather easy. I would be able to use Excel in the classroom when doing grading. I also would be able to use in when taking inventory in my room, an art class, on number of supplies. I could also use it when comparing test scores and topics of interest. Excel is a very convenient way to organize numbers. This project met NETS standards 1a by promoting inventive thinking, 1b because this project could be used in a real world experience, and 1c because it would help students to organize their information. It also met NETS standards 2a because this is a relevant learning experience using a digital design, 2c because it opens up to many different learning styles including mathematical intelligences, and standards 3 and 4.
